2024 prospect Marcus Adams has transformed into a national recruit and is poised for a big junior season at Narbonne High School (CA). The 6-foot-7 wing has a highly sought-after combination of physical tools and modern skill.
Adams is well-built as a combo forward and an extremely explosive athlete. He gets downhill in a hurry and is prone to finishing strong above the rim. He can function as a big guard at times, acting as a secondary facilitator. Adams is also an improving three-point shooter, adding yet another element to his game.
Recently, Adams spent time with Pro Insight’s Jake Lieberman to chat about the latest with his recruitment.
For the next installment of “Recruiting Roundup,” we present class of 2024 prospect Marcus Adams, from Los Angeles, California:
Pro Insight: What are you hoping to show NCAA coaches this upcoming season?
Marcus Adams: I want to show coaches my work ethic, determination, my skill set, and the dog in me. I want to show them the player they want.
PI: Which programs would you say are currently prioritizing you the most or expressing the most interest?
MA: Pepperdine, UCLA, Washington State, Mississippi, New Mexico, and Nevada.
PI: Where have you visited thus far? Do you have any future visits planned?
MA: I have a visit to Washington State, which will happen in the near future. That is going to be my first official visit.
PI: Did you have any dream schools growing up?
MA: UCLA and USC — those were my top-two dream schools.
PI: If you could team up with any high school player in the country when you guys get to college, who would you pick?
MA: Carter Bryant. Carter and I have a similar play style. We’re good friends. It would be great to play with him at the next level.
PI: How do you project your role at the next level?
MA: I’d say a 2/3 guard. I’m working out twice, three times a day to get there. I also want to be a go-to guy.
PI: What's your pre-game pump-up song/artist?
MA: In the car ride to the game I listen to peaceful Rod Wave. Then, when I walk in, I’ll put on my sunglasses. As I’m walking in, I’ll usually play NBA Youngboy. No Switch is my favorite song by NBA Youngboy.
PI: Which player in the NBA or college would you compare your game to?
MA: A lot of people call me Paolo. Some people call me Carmelo Anthony 2.0. I’ve also been compared to Tobias Harris.
PI: Do you have any favorite shoes you like to play in?
MA: I’d probably say Kobe 6’s. When I play on Compton Magic, though, it’s going to be pure Adidas, so I’d say Exhibit A’s.
