The prestigious Pangos All-American Camp, an invite-only event featuring the top high school prospects in the nation, returned this summer after it was cancelled due to the pandemic last year. Pro Insight was on hand to evaluate the event and caught up with Kel’el Ware of North Little Rock High School (AR) and All-Arkansas Red. Ware was selected to the Top-30 Cream of the Crop Game and averaged 12.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, & 1.8 blocks while showcasing his inside-outside scoring ability.

As part of the Pro Insight Q&A series, Ware talked about his short & long term goals, his background, his game, and more.

For the next installment of the Pro Insight Q&A series, we present 2022 prospect Kel’el Ware, from North Little Rock, Arkansas:

Pro Insight: Talk about your initial impressions of the event.

Kel’el Ware: I mean the event is great. You’ve got college coaches here, you get to play in front of college coaches, and learn from people who have been around the league and they can teach you what you need to know.

PI: What are you hoping to show NBA scouts and college coaches in attendance?

KW: Showing them that I’m able to do anything they need me to do.

PI: Describe your game for those who haven’t seen you play.

KW: I’m able to get down in the post, I can protect the rim, get rebounds, etc. If needed I can get on the 3 and shoot it, in the mid-range I have a good shot, too.

PI: What are some improvement areas?

KW: My driving from off the wing. I want to improve on that.

PI: What are some underrated aspects of your game?

KW: My shot. I’d say my shot. I don’t get enough credit for my shot.

PI: Who do you model your game after?

KW: I want to say Joel Embiid because he’s my favorite player. I watch him and try to copy what he does.

PI: Talk about your background.

KW: I’m from North Little Rock and I’ve got one brother and two sisters. I live with my mom and my step-dad.

PI: What are your short and long term goals as a player?

KW: My long term goal is to make it all the way to the league and to be able to support my family. Short term goal is to be able to get stronger and to battle a lot.

PI: What are your current measurements?

KW: I don’t know my wingspan, but I’m 7’0” and 220+ pounds.

PI: Where does your height come from?

KW: My real dad is 6’6” and my mom’s dad was 6’6” too.

PI: Are you the tallest in your family?

KW: Yessir.

PI: What are you looking for in a school of choice?

KW: Just how well they use their bigs.

PI: At the end of the day, what do you hope to be remembered for?

KW: The best big. Yeah, the best big.
